Coca-Cola Demo
Flash video player
This video shows the playback of various websites archived by Hanzo on behalf of The Coca-Cola Company. The demo was originally given live by Ted Ryan of Coca-Cola, at the Business Archives Section Colloquium during the Society of American Archivists’ Archives*Records Conference in Washington DC, in August 2010. Ted Ryan is Manager, Collections Development, at The Coca-Cola Company. The demo formed part of a presentation entitled “Long Term Digital Website Preservation”, the highlights of which are below:
- The importance of branding
- The story of two ads - preservation of original Normal Rockwell oil paintings and ‘Polar Bears’
- Website preservation ‘issues’
- Original Coca-Cola website from 1995 has vanished, only an EPS file of the home page remains
- Internet Archive captures from the 90’s and 2000’s exist but are incomplete
- Regular PDF ‘print-outs’ exist, but are flat, non-native, non-interactive
Since late 2009, Hanzo Archives has captured many Coca-Cola corporate and brand sites around the world. The archives are fully browsable and playable, containing all original elements of the websites in their native form. Such as:
- Rich and interactive web pages
- Video and animation
- Social Web content, including Facebook
- Archive Policy Browser

Archive Access Demo Shows Interactive HTML 5 Game
Flash video player
This video shows the playback of a HTML 5 interactive game contained in one of Hanzo’s native web archives. All the assets collected from the original site, google.co.uk on 21 May 2010, are stored in the archive unchanged and forensically sound. This demo shows the game is fully functional when served from our native web archive, played directly within the browser.
- HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc. are fully captured
- Content is stored without change or transformation, to ensure long term access using standard technology with no added costs
- All content, including this game, is browsable, and functional, directly in the browser
